About KBX PR
Hi, I’m Kate.
After heading up PR for travel brands, working both in-house and agency-side, for over 20 years, I set up my own boutique consultancy offering travel and leisure brands a fresh approach to their public relations strategy.
KBX PR was created because I felt there was a gap in the market for a PR agency offering an as-in-house approach.
Always director level PR support
Working with a large PR agency often means high turnover and a mix of seniority within your account team. At KBX PR, every account is personally led by me, drawing on my 22-year background in the travel industry, to shape both strategy and delivery.
From writing to pitching, reporting to networking, you will have the benefit of two decades of know-how and on-the-ground experience, ensuring your campaigns will be effective, efficient, and impactful.
Travel needs real sector expertise
Travel is its own sector for a reason. It’s not as simple as ecommerce and the decision making and emotions behind booking holidays is far greater than buying your next pair of shoes.
Travel brands need someone who understands that and who isn’t just going to apply the ‘one size fits all’ approach to travel PR.
Travel journalists care about relationships
Head over to my testimonials page for examples of this.
Sure, you can send a pitch to a long media list, but actually having relationships, banter and shared experiences means that when an email from me comes through, journalists always read it.
And when I say I’m close to journalists, that means I care about them too - I’ve even been known to hold their hand when they need it, including in ambulances and waiting around at hospitals (don’t ask - it was a fun press trip!). And when it comes to PR, caring means I don’t go sending journalists things I know they won’t care about and I won’t waste your time with this either.
Cost effective travel PR
As a boutique agency, I offer the flexibility to tailor cost-effective solutions to your needs, without the overheads of a larger consultancy.
Most importantly, every billable hour is spent with me, giving you senior-level expertise and continuity, rather than work being passed between a rotating team of junior account managers.
My Approach
I act as an extension of your in-house team.
This means I can:
Integrate with your team and learn your brand inside and out
Sit in on meetings and save you time in briefings
Be accountable – PR should never be carried out in isolation but form a part of the wider sales and marketing effort
Deliver increased return on investment through an as-in-house approach at a fraction of the cost
Produce coverage of quantity and quality, with better relationships, and a reliable service
Draw from a trusted pool of media experts for ad-hoc support and expertise spanning event and talent management, brand partnerships, experiential events
I don’t represent more than one client in each sub-sector
I am a travel expert, so all of my clients are in the travel and leisure industry. However, I don’t work with brands that are direct competitors of brands I already work with, so there’s never any conflicts of interest or sharing of campaign ideas.
I don’t over commit on time and resource
You’ll never find me saying ‘Can we move this over to next month?’ I don’t take on new clients if I don’t have the capacity to give them support and campaigns that meet the high standards that I hold myself to.
“Kate has been managing our PR and influencercontent for more than 9 years and in that time, increased our coverage threefold compared to previous outsourced agencies. The improved, sustainable PR performance is due to Kate’s excellent media relationships, creative approach, and dedication to our brand. As a client, I would have no hesitation in recommending Kate and KBX PR.”
